Any advances in RTN treatment?

They are if you go by the "on the box" recommendations. There was a GREAT thread that Chris (mojo) wrote about properly sizing UV's. You should be able to find it really easily by searching Reef Discussion.

the weird thing is, though, I CAN"T figure out what triggered it. I think thats whats so frustrating about RTN..

You guys that have had it.. what salt were u using at the time? Just wondered

oh.. and does a UV that is strong enough to make a difference endanger GOOD bacteria?
 
I know nothing about this RTN stuff, but does it make a good argument fore a bare bottom tank? I am going that way now, only because I want to limit detrius accumulation. Thoughts?
