Any difference between 250 400 moguls?

So I'm just curious because I see mogul sockets listed as for 250 or for 400w bulbs....is there really a difference? Isn't a mogul base a mogul base?

Yes, a mogul base is a mogul base. The difference might be in the size of the bulb itself but not the base.

Great! That means I can retain my mogul base reflectors and just change the ballast.
