Thinking of getting one for a new settup i have in the works. Seems to have great reviews. Any thoughts on this particular unit? Thank you.

Used 2 over my 90g setup and grew everything from SPS to softies with ease. With the controller you get tons of timers that you can set up the percent of each light that you want at different times.
I had a dusk and dawn setup and also had it so that the yellow lights were higher during the day when I was gone to help with growth. Then the blues were stronger at night when I was home and viewing the tank.

I think there are better choices in LED fixtures. Had them. They grow corals, but your colors are not as good as with other units. I would look at a multi color LED, not one with only blue/white. Radion Pro would be my choice in an LED. I use two over my 100 gallon mixed tank.

I would not put them over a tank with SPS either. Halides for SPS. JMO.

Much better LED choices out there. If you plan to do SPS, I'd go halide or t5/LED combo.

I've got 4 units over a 120. I can grow SPS, Softies and Clams without any issues. Love em. (Full disclosure: I haven't tried any other LEDs)

Multi color LEDs are the best for softies, LPS and some SPS corals, IMO.

I've never had on issue growing SPS under LEDs. It is getting them to color up under LEDs that has been my issue. May not be everyone's experience, just mine. Never an issue getting great coloration under Radion Pros for SPS in the genus seratiopora, pocillopora or stylophora, but acroporas and milleporas just don't get that colorful under LEDs IME. They are more of a pastel, like two or three shades of brightness too dull, when under halides they are very bright and more intense in their color presentation.

That is why I have Radium 400 watt halides on my 465 SPS tank, and Radion Pro LEDs over my 100 gallon mixed tank. If I were sticking with seratiopora, pocis, and stylos, I would have Radions over the 465.

I think a lot of this is particular to one's setup. Maybe someone else has great color in all SPS types with an AI SOl Blue. Not me, but that is the fun thing about his hobby, the experimentation part of it. Try something, and if it works great...if not, adjust and try something different.

Do you guys really want to get ME started?!
Long and short. AI= garbage
For those who are new to the dance, I had a little rant about them. I can post a link to the thread if you're really dying to know.

never used a sol so i couldnt comment on growth or coloration. i can say that im not a big fan though. ive seen other led systems and used a diy setup and a radion and i love my radion i get great growth and coloration out of all kinds of coral including sps. i havent delved into the world of acros very much but ive got a green slimer that looks and grows great but i dont get much pe out of. and i have a rommells rainbow and a random millie as well. the millie has encrusted and grown a little but shows almost no pe and the rommells hasnt grown or encrusted and is mostly green in color with no pe. but again im inexperienced in acros so it could very well be user error as it could be the lights. i say if youre going led go with a radion pro
