I have a large frag of Leptastrea that has completely consumed its plug over the past few months, but I cannot get it to encrust onto my pukani for the life of me. Any tips?

Is the area of the frag plug near the top touching the rock and is there anything growing on the rock, like algae?

No algae, but the top of the frag isn't touching, only the base of the plug where the newest growth is.

I ended up removing it from the plug about a month ago and feel it is starting to encrust now. Mine is neon green like the photo below, what’s yours?

I believe it's called John Deere or something like that. It's a brilliant green and orange color and is probably one of the healthiest looking corals in my tank. Seems to be happy wherever I put it, but isn't encrusting very well. I'll try a new freshly dried piece of rock today and see what happens after a few weeks
