Anybody know why these are?

Hey everyone do I just got back from a trip and noticed all these weird looking things attached to the walls of my filter, they almost look like some kind of work or maybe a tiny anemone?

They look like pineapple sponges. Good to have in your tank.

i had those pop up in my old tank the everyone told me it was some sort of sponge
