I am in the middle of building a workbench. I have 2 pieces of laminated wood that I am trying to get completely flat so I can glue them together. Problem is that I don't have a jointer and what I thought would work doesn't. I am hoping someone has one that wouldn't mind me bringing the 2 pieces over and jointing them. They are 4" wide by 60" long. Each one consists of 6 2x4's laminated together. A 6" jointer would be sufficient. all I need to do is take just enough off both of them so I can get a good joint line.

I don't mind paying for the inconvienience

Thanks

Tyson

What in the world is a jointer? I Googled it and an image shows something resembling a table saw.

It's kind of like a router built into a table system, allows you to shave off X amount like a planer. Makes nice square edges.

A jointer is a machine that flattens one face of a board, and can also make the adjacent edge perpendicular to the face. Nobody can explain it better than Marc:
