Noticed a few of these guys on the glass in my Caribbean biotope last few days. Anybody have any idea what species this might be? I have Ceriths, Nassarius, and Astraeas in the tank. Also have one or two random species that hitchhiked into the tank.

This isn't my forte but I hope someone can get you some suggestions. Anything I'd say would be an absolute guess.

Hard to tell from just that picture and angle. What shape is the shell?

Managed to get a pic of the shell this morning. These things are TINY. I’m talking like 3mm long, 2mm or less wide. They seem to stay close to the sand bed by and large. They look like Nassarius, but I’ve only had 4 adult Nassarius in the tank for about a week.

Could also be a Marginella snail
Now this seems like it could be the best candidate. My tank is stocked with a ton of macro algae & plants I collected in the Florida Keys about a month ago. Looks like Marginella are native to the Keys, so I might have brought some eggs back in the plants/macros. I was leaning toward Nassarius, but I’ve only had adult Nassarius in the tank for a week so the timeline just doesn’t add up. Will keep you guys updated.

That checks out. I know them from collecting stuff in the Tampa area. They are very small, even as adults, and their shells are very smooth. They burrow in the substrate and feed on dead things and leftover food just like nassarius snails.
