it is unresponsive to button pushes and I can't pick it up on my app....

Open up the brain box and see if the capacitor blew up. You can smell it through the ports too. Happened to me and was apparently an issue on earlier models. They would not cover it under warranty stating it was a sensitive part to fluctuations in power surges or outages. They repaired mine and rerouted capacitor in a different location.

Mrbishopm had the same problem I did.

It has been a pretty hush situation but when I called customer support and mentioned my issue he immediately asked me to box it up and send it in. Then told me the repair fee would be x amount. I forgot off hand.

Sounds like the main unit (brain) is dead or damaged. Had it happen once on me. Temp, ph, etc. flatlined at very low numbers like 19 deg and 3.14 ph. The unit was still turning on/off switches based on those values though. Got the warning email to tell me my tank was 19 degrees. Obviously, a dangerous situation for your inhabitants. Nothing I tried would fix it - power cycle, etc.

I ended up having to send it off to Apex for repair/replacement.
