Ken I personally like chemiclean, its very easy to use. Just use less than the recommended dosage, put an air stone in your tank while treating it and turn off your skimmer (it will overflow big time). Then do a 40% water change after 48 hrs (if I remember correctly). Its that easy. You may need to do two doses back to back to get rid of it completely.
Ya what Brett said, chemiclean works great but skimmer will go nuts for weeks. One way to work around is is do so many water changes.
What I did was restrict flow to your slimmer pump and it will skim out stuff over few days without overflowing.
