Apex Leak Detection False Alarm

A funny thing just happened. I have the Neptune ALD module with 2 probes inside the stand of one of my tanks, and the Apex alerted me that one of the switches was CLOSED (a.k.a. that there's water).

I panicked and searched for any stray water indicating a possible leak, but there's nothing. No water at all on either of the leak detection probes and all surfaces around the probes are dry. The only explanation I can think of is that enough humidity built up inside the stand to trigger it, but the probes don't really seem that sensitive. I tested them by dripping a little water on them and it seems like they need a fair amount of water to cause a CLOSED state.

Has anyone else had something like this happen before? I did a little googling but found nothing.

if the sensors ever got wet before with saltwater, it could be a little corrosion starting to build up.

The probes were bought brand new and have only been setup for a couple months or so, so no corrosion whatsoever. And also, it's on the big 400 gallon freshwater tank, no salt. This really has me scratching my head.

Yeah I have to say we don't really get any true false alarms. Usually it ends up being something.

I had a bad feeling this was something uncommon since I couldn't find anyone else's account of a false alarm. I was standing right next to the tank when it happened. I heard the Apex make an alarm sound and I got the text message:

Status: ON
Statement: If Swx2_1 CLOSED Then ON

And I immediately checked the probes so there would have been no time for any water to evaporate. I agree that things like this don't generally happen for no reason.. but it definitely wasn't water. At least it's only happened this one time (and it's better than actually finding a leak, on a 400gal tank ;). I'll post an update if it happens again.
