I'm trying to get this Apex Lite (no display) up and running. However, in having a devil of a time even getting the gaming adapter connected to the network! Any IT guys out there have some advice?

subscribing, my gaming adaptor is sitting beside tank waiting to be used.

which adaptor are you using tex?

They reference some of it in the unofficial user guide. Check the sticky on the Neptune forum in RC to download it.

The gaming is transparent to the Apex. The gaming adapter is nothing more then a wifi bridge. Make sure your game adapter is setup properly. If it is, you should be able to connect a labtop to the ethernet port on the gaming adapter and browse your network and the internet. This should work with either setting up a static address or using DHCP address.

Login to your home router and make sure the gaming adapter is on the associated device list. If it's not, your gaming adapter is not connecting to your network and it maybe an issue with the security settings in the adpater.

Yeah, turns out my gaming adapter's ethernet connection is bad. It's probably 4 years old, so no surprise.

I need to buy a new one, but can I use an N gaming adapter? I use Clear as my ISP and that's tied into a D-Link N Router. The cheapest gaming adapter I can find is $49. Maybe I should just run an ethernet cable and be done. I can go under the crawl space and it's only 20 feet or so.

You will be better off in the long run with a cable since you can't (shouldn't) update the Apex firmware over wireless. So if it isn't that tough to route the cable, I would bite the bullet and get 'er done now instead of spending the $$$ on another gaming adapter.
