so, im an apex idiot... I need to put in a lot more effort to learn more..

that being said.

I want to do an experiment...
I'd like my skimmer to turn off between 12 am and 4 am every morning.. and then turn back on
so off 12-4:59 and on 5-11:59

what would that apex program look like?

thanks for the help

Should I do this too? How will this benefit the tank?

Tricky to answer.... my opinion is that turning off the skimmer simply allows nutrients to stay in the tank system. If you are running a low nutrient system where Nitrites/Phosphates (i.e. low nutrient system where you are trying to color corals up) are the only thing limiting coral growth then it might help you. People who run these types of systems usually have to add nutrients (something similar to amino acids or "zeolite" style additions).

So ultimate question kibdoit2... what does your system look like, feel free to post a build thread
;-)

I have a 90 gal reef that's been up for a few years now. And I don't feel like I've had great success . The only thing I grow well is zoos ,a large toadstool and anemones. So I love advice
