Aptasia alert! The Fish Store

So I don't want to badmouth any store or individual, just to put out a warning.

My husband got some coralline coated live rock from there last weekend. Once we got it in the tank and settled, we could see that it was covered in aiptasia

Happens to most of us at some point, I get it. But just wanted to warn others of what can be a painful and costly mistake.

Just return it before the spread. That place is a cespool for pests.

Very true. Near impossible for them to keep it out with the volume they have coming in and out.

I expect one or two here and there. But this 1 rock literally had HUNDREDS on it! I was shocked to say the least. This is now an "equipment/supplies" only store for me.

I'll never start a tank with dry rock again unless I have no choice. My rock is fine now but I would have been a lot further along had I started with a good sourced live rock. Pick your LR source wisely, watch for pests, make sure your good and then enjoy your LR decision.

I'll bash a store. That place was a total dump the last time I was there. I've seen cleaner tanks at Petco.
