Aptasia in a zoa frag

I bought a frag of red zoa's at the fragswap and noticed an aptiasia hiding right in the middle of it later that night. I don't own any aptasia-x and even if I bought some it would be really tough to get it since i's hiding in the middle of a bunch of zoa's.

Is there a way to get it to move out of the zoa's? Maybe if I left them upside down for a day or something?

Looking for suggestions!

scare it into hiding and pack whatever hole its hiding in with super glue.

Doubt you get it to move. Aptasia-X is a good solution. It comes with a needle so you can apply it right into the mouth with little of it getting on the other corals. Even if a little doesn't get on them they should be fine unless you hit them in the mouth with a glob.

Turn all flow off, dose the aptasia and wait a good 10 minutes before turning flow back on.

If you can take out the frag, I've had success just cutting it out from in the middle of a pack of zoas.

I have several rocks that are completely covered with zoa's, I also have some aptasia between the zoa's, I've found that peppermint shrimp do a good job at removing the aptasia. I have a 34 gallon and have 5 peppermint shrimp. I've also taken one of the rocks out of the tank and used a scalpel to cut the aptasia out of the rock.

I had just one peppermint in my whole 90g and never saw even one aiptasia until I imported one on a frag. I decided to leave it overnight to see what would happen. The next morning it was gone.

I know peppermints are hit or miss as far as eating aiptasia, but if you get one that does, they really take care of it.

I had two smack in the middle of some zoos and I got a needle from a diabetic friend, I put in some aptasia killing solution in it and the rest is history.

thanks for the tips guys. Any of you guys have peppermint shrimps and a healthy stometella population? I got a skunk cleaner once and he had a buffet of stometella till I pulled him. Peppermints are a little smaller I think so I'm leaning that direction.

This must've been the last thread I read last night before I went to bed. I swear I had a dream about this last night. I was running around downtown with this frag pointing at the aptasia asking everyone I saw to inject habenero sauce into the aptasia to kill it, but nobody would do it.
Had to find this thread today to convince myself I wasn't crazy. LOL!!!
