How do you like your fixture? Any pros/cons that I should consider before I purchase one?

Did you fry any corals at the beginning or did everything adjust fine?

I couldn't resist. You gotta hit the fat pitches when they are served up!

So aside from the bashing of AI, are there any products within that certain price range that will be beneficial?

Kind of sad that I called upwards of 5 sponsors and they all raved about the output and color that I would gain with the Sol, then come here and hear a lot of negatives.

It would be nice to have the radion but it is almost double other units. I do like the fact I can link up if I decide to go bigger.

Would the radion be over kill for my 30g?

I don't think that they are bad units. I think that they are fine for what they are.

They should be marketed to a consumer who cares about: heat, dimability, color controllability and primarily softies and LPS keepers. They are OK for SPS, but I would say that they wouldn't keep up with a metal halide or t5s in terms of growth. I will also say that I don't think you get the same colors. The colors aren't bad, just different than advertized...

LEDS make every coral like a christmas present. It may be wrapped one way when you get it, but you truly never know what it will end up being...

No way is it overkill when you can dim the fixtures to fit your needs. When you upgrade (And you will) then you're ahead of the game. They retain their value well too incase you decide to go another direction.

I don't have a problem with my AI fixture. It took some tweaking and getting used to, but I have decent growth on my SPS, LPS, Softies & Clam in my 60 cube with ONE fixture over it.

That said, I bought 2 MM dimmable units to go along wtih the AI over my 150 when I migrate to it. I did that simply because of cost.

What type of SPS do you keep? I was perfectly happy with the results I got from things like montis and birds nest. Most of my tank is acros.

Monti's where the growth is GREAT. Acros the growth is slower but still respectable and better than I had with T5s.
