Aquac remora question?

Would a mag 7 be to much for the skimmer? Guy I got it from says he ran one for the last two years.. any help would be great

Mag 7 will be WAY to big!!!! Run a maxi jet 1200 or similar! The one I have running the 5 is NOT a Remora C. I ran that skimmer with a maxi jet and had great success.

So the guy sold me a skimmer and pump for a killer price. And it won't work? The fitting that comes out of the skimmer is the same size as the fitting on the pump. I don't think the 1200 will be enough. The skimmer is almost 2 foot tall I think?

Look at the online sellers. They all say 1200 maxi jet.

Just went and measured it and the measurements are the same as the pro. Would it still be too much?

Mag 3 or rio 1400 is what is recommended. I still think the 5 is to much. But heck give it a try... Worst that can happen is it skims WAY to soft...
