Aquamaxx Carbon and GFO

Anybody using the aquamaxx carbon and gfo sold at marine depot. I think its new. I know a lot of people use BRS and like it. Gonna place an order and it looked like that was the only gfo marine depot carried.

Seachem Matrix carbon is the best carbon. I've found I ended up using more of the BRS stuff and had to spend a LOT of time rinsing it (tons of dust). Matrix is more efficient and no dust!

i am using the matrix carbon right now. it seems to be working great. been in there a month and still clear. gonna change it though just for good measure. so sounds like BRS for GFO. thanx

Give Phosgaurd a shot. I like it better than GFO.

Yep, thats what i got in there right now. Had posted a thread earlier this week and someone had recommended gfo instead. i guess some corals do not like it. the phosguard seems to be working well for me though. how often do you change your carbon?

I let mine rock out for a couple of months easy! I'd recommend changing monthly, though.

GFO is often recommended on forums because it's cheap. But as you know, cheap doesn't mean good! Phosgaurd doesn't have the negative aspects that GFO has.
