Hello everyone. I am wanting to replace the frame on my aquarium. Personally I love the anodized aluminum frames from custom aquariums but they do not sell them separately. Anyone know of a good alternative? Tank is a 5x2x2. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

I have been looking into aluminum stands recently.

Both of these companies can create a kit for you:
https://8020.net/
https://www.framingtech.com/

Alternatively, you can buy t-slot 80/20 aluminum on ebay, but I'm not sure what additional hardware/fasteners is needed to put it together. If you go that route and figure it, please let me know.

what do you mean by frame? Canopy, light rigging, stand, actual tank frame holding the glass in?

I have the 80/20 stuff for my light rigging and love it, but the fittings get pricey FAST.

Yeah I had seen that place before, but it's just a normal plastic frame. I was wondering if by any chance anyone had heard of a place that makes them out of anodized aluminum like how they do at customaquariums.com. Was hoping to find something like that so it's a lot more permanent and i don't have to worry about the plastic degrading again. Plus the one from customaquariums is pretty cool in that you can remove the middle supports as long as the water level is low to allow you to do aquascape changes and stuff.

Give the measurements to any metal fabrication place and they an make you a frame out of 1x1 aluminum L stock. Im not sure who would be able to annodize something that size off hand though so you may need to call around.
