Recently set up an Aquastyle 9 aquarium. It's really shaping up nicely, but belatedly (AFTER leak testing, rockscaping, water fill, 6-week cycling and initial stocking) I've noticed that there's a very small chip/scratch riiiiight on the outside surface of the front of the tank, about the size of a printed comma. Doesn't appear to be spreading. and it's not all the way through the glass.

I only notice it when I'm cleaning the tank with yon trusty Nanomag or staring straight at the tank from 6" away. So often, I guess.

Can this be fixed? And if so by who or what?

If it's just cosmetic I wouldn't worry about it. It probably can't be fixed anyway. It's not like a windshield made with two layers of tempered glass. I could be wrong... If I am, others will correct me!

It can be filled with the windshield resin. but not sure if it is worth it unless it really bugs you

Would the windshield resin work for sratches or just chips? Been wondering if the resin could be a fix for deeper scratches and avoid the use of cerium oxide and a whole lot of time.

I don't think so but not sure. I used the resin on an oyster shell on a friends tank and it worked well.
