I am picking up a 20b glass tank this evening and hope to build my sump/refugium this weekend. Can anyone tell me if there is a specific silicone I need to go with that is not only aquarium safe but will bond acrylic to glass? I have left over acrylic that I was planning on using for my baffles.

Also, any input on min. dimensions for the return pump area as well as skimmer/filter sock area would be helpful. I currently do not have a skimmer but want to be sure I have enough room when that time comes. My tank is a 45 with about 30 lbs of LR so I don’t need a monster but at the same time, I want to buy with the future in mind. There will come a day (hopefully in the not so distant future) when I upgrade my tank and I would like to have a skimmer that will handle something in the 150 g range.

Feel free to post any of your sump/refugium designs in this thread. Us newbees need all the help we can get.

I knew I had seen that before. LOL In the one with the fuge on the end, wouldn't you get micro bubbles coming back to the pump from the fuge? Seems you would need a second bubble trap there.
