Aquarium temperatures

What's a good temperature to keep a reef at? I've been keeping it a 73, but with it getting warm during the day and cool at night, the temperature is fluctuating too much! I've bumped it up to 76. How does that sound?!

I think 76 is good. I use to keep mines at 78 but I just dropped it down to 77. That seems to be the best place to have it without over working my fans and heaters throughout the day

That is why I wanted to ask; I didn't want to overwork the heater!

most people keep it closer to 77 in the winter... 78 in the summer...

Yeah, the only part I have to worry about is during the winter. In the summer, my tank stays at 78 without a heater!

Is it true that fish are more active in warmer waters? I read that somewhere.

hmmmm...interesting! My main concern was overworking my heater. But I try hard to prevent illnesses too!
