yea.. so I thought of this after I had done my aquascape a year or so ago. Thing is I used a lot of zipties to actually support weight.. the problem is that now they are breaking. Nothing catastrophic... but I'm pulling the plug before it BECOMES catastrophic haha.

last night I pulled 1/3rd of my rock out... snapped off the corals and started making plans to redo it with acrylic rods and epoxy.

I ordered 35 lbs of Pukani from BRS (youd be VERY surprised how far Pukani goes), and bought new blades for my cutter.

Aquascape build thread soon I suppose.

Started a aquascape redo close to a year ago now... not finished yet ;-(

Picked up some large (3 ft) HVAC zip ties to hold everything, then using long masonry bit I drill and use some fiberglass rods (drive way markers). Picked up some Hydraulic cement to to "motor" the joints and smooth out gaps and secure rocks. The hydraulic cement swells and really grabs the rocks, best part no pH swings. I glued a couple of live rocks together and put them put them back in the display and the pH only went from 8.21 to 8.23!
I toying with the idea of incorporating a small power head/submersible pump for flow with PVC plumbing incorporated into the structure, I think that a DC controllable would be kinda cool.

This thread inspired some cool thoughts!

Good luck and I hope that yours goes faster then mine.

Edit: Cool pic from Son of Adams set up.
