I picked up 2 buckets from Jenn on Saturday. No results to report. I did a 10% water change and I did notice that it took a while for the cloudyness to subside. I didn't expect that because I use Seachem Reef salt. I figured it would mix rather quickly coming from the same company. Smells a little funky out of the bucket, but it did not smell in the tank. I am a little bit older, but the drum certainly seems heavier. Probably a little more dense. One thing I can attest to is that the old Seachem salt called for a 1 1/2 cups of salt to get a 5 gallon bucket of water to 1.024. The new salt doesn't take as much. I only made 2 buckets, but I was way over on the first bucket using 1 1/2 cups of salt. I had to mix with the 2nd batch to get it to 1.026. I'll pay attention this week to see what the real difference is. The new salt is supposed to get you 220 gallons (I believe at 1.023) and the old salt was getting 160 gallons at 1.020. This will make up a good bit of the cost and might even be cheaper if it retains that trace elements longer. Watch for the strap. Not very stable and this boy will hurt you if it falls on your foot/leg or anything. Certainly don't want to waste it on the floor or the ground. I almost did when my strap busted.
