I know most people in the reef keeping hobby scoff at these. I have run a 50w heater for 2 years for a 10g betta tank then another 2 years for a 10g qt/aggressive fish tank. Now I am using it for my 10 g reef and before I shut this tank down I figured I'd make a review for the nano tank people on here.
For one they fit great in any aquaclear hob 50 or larger.
If run without a temperature controller, I never saw the heater on over 78.5 degrees.
Now that I run a temp. Controller for cooling the temp stays at 77-78 degrees.
I'll keep it for a small qt but I'd say they are solid.

I use them for heating fresh saltwater in the cooler months and as supplemental heaters for those really cold snaps.

I tried a preset heater, and the temp just kept rising and rising. I had to remove it at 84 degrees and throw it away.
