Picked these up from an Ebay seller and have not looked good since I got them. I did get my money back although so I have been trying to recover them, but at this point are they beyond saving?

I'd leave them in there. I have had stuff that looked like crap that eventually came back.

Pull them out and see if they still smell "fishy", if you will. If they do, keep them. If not, you can try but they are probably goners. I had a 7 inch wide monti erode to just about a quarter inch around. I left it in there and it's about 75% back!

I wouldn't pull them out until they turn white. I have had some acan and favia frags do this but then come back over a month or so. But I have also had some turn completely white so I removed.

Either way it'll i'd leave em. If they're dead they'll eventually be live rock.

If you can, please keep them. There may still be some life in those skeletons.

Just last night I was surveying my frag system with the pumps off and I noticed a 3/4" wide by 1/8" tall green leather arising from the live rock that once held a 6" green leather til I accidentially nuked the system in June, 2011 when it got to 95.3F overnight. :shout:

So, if possible, just leave them in your system if you can. You just never know what will come back! :)
