So I went and got a couple of auto fish feeders and set one up in the living room and now all I smell is the fish food. Is there any fish food that isn’t super strong in scent that I can use that won’t stink up the house while it’s in the fish feeder container or a way to keep the smell to a minimum. Thought my wife was gonna kill me when the smell of the fish food was all we could smell in the living room 😆

What type of food did you put in the autofeeder? (Flake, pellets or frozen)

For pellets I use Reef Nutrition TDO and PE Flakes and have never smelt anything. Make sure moisture isn’t getting in your feeder and turning the food into mold.

🤔

My tank is in my office... and I'm extremely sensitive to some smells. Some things I can become accustomed to, such as the smell of the tank itself in general, but particularly strong smells, not so much... I'm still trying to figure out if/where/how I can grow phyto on the cheap without driving myself or anyone else out of the room where the culture is. Unfortunately, neither my garage nor my shop are temp controlled enough to do anything in them.

Edit: Ooops, got dragged out before I could complete the thought.

I had been considering automatic feeders at some point, but curious to know how it turns out, so I don't wind up running myself out of my own office.

My tank is just a few feet from my office desk. I use New Life Spectrum pellets in me Eheim feeder and don’t smell a thing.
