I just felt compelled to give a write up on this fantastic store.

I've been in this hobby for a short period of time so you could say I'm in that extremely addictive stage. I've been to ALL of the FS in the greater Atlanta area. Most are fantastic operations but IMO are no match to what Pure Reef has to offer.

Some of the things to expect walking into the place...

*Excellent customer service thats helpful, genuine and knowledgeable. This is a family owned business where the owners are always present. I don't think I've ever been in there where atleast one wasn't in (Jorge is a given, I don't think he takes days off).

*Great prices and truly unigue animals. I see member to member prices exceed thier prices almost on a daily basis. Quality, unmatched, I swear they fly to Hawahii to hand pick their fish, coral and liverock!

*Cleanliness and organization, whether it be from the floor to the tanks and coral, there never is a speck of dust, spot of algea or spotty service.

Bottomline, if you haven't had the opportunity to visit this fine establishment you truly don't know what your missing!!

Thanks for everything you've done for me! I truly would be lost if it wasn't for you guys!:yay:

Jesse,

I completely agree. I drive the 2.5 hours from Evans to go there when I need something. Too bad they had to close Star Aquatics in Augusta, the only LFS we have now is a dump with horrible customer service.

Always nice to see a positive review of a store. I have never been there but may have to take the trip.

I left Augusta last July to move to Huntsville for a job. I miss Star in Augusta. I use to go there once a week.

However, even the best fish store in the world is no reason to even consider living in Atlanta :)

Couldn't agree more, if it was at all possible I'd leave greater Atlanta in a heartbeat!

Pure Reef is great! Great selection, knowledgeable staff... you can't beat it

Their display tank in the front of the store is the most beautiful tank I have ever seen.

I took my wife and kids there to "seal the deal" so to speak on getting a tank and after we left the first thing she asked me was how big are those tanks in the front. The second was how much would it cost for us to do that.

They've always been friendly the few times I've gone in. Just haven't been in a position to buy anything nor had the time to chat.

Everytime I am in the area I try to stop by to check it out and they are closed.. 3 times so far lol..

Hit them during their posted hours and you shouldn't have a problem. They are closed Tuesdays. Fortunately, they have enough employees that they never have to temporarily close the store during their posed hours.

Yea, my wife and I usually end up in that area because my wife delivers her product to a knitting store in the area, then I have been there twice for fish stuff but for some reason it is always before 11 on weekdays or before 1 on sunday.. One of these days I will actually get by that and check them out during normal hours.
