Whenever I shutdown my return pump. Water change, feeding etc., the fill line drains. When I start the pump back up, there is quite a bit of air trapped in the chiller that releases back into the tank creating a lot of trapped air bubbles in my rock. Looking for solutions. Anyone use a backflow if so what kind?

Thats what i use

I had one ^ on my 150. I put an isolation valve in-line to be able to clean it regularly.

It's kind of a trade off. I have a basement sump, so I get a lot of air purge every time I fire mine back up. A check valve is another thing that requires maintenance and a pretty significant likelihood of failure at some point. Personally, I choose bubbles. Never really had a problem with it.

Maybe you could add a valve that bypasses the returns and feeds back to the sump, then once the air is purged you flip it back to feed the display??
