I was feeding my tank when suddenly my Banggai cardinal got its moth stuck wide open when trying to eat. The mouth is as wide as it could be an now is stuck not being able to swim. I think it tore a muscle in the jaw because I can see a lump to the right side under its gills. Any thoughts it is not looking good. It is still breathing. And yes I saw this happen with my own eyes. Any suggestions or has this ever happened to anyone?

Unfortunately it did not make it, double unfortunate part is that it was the female and it was going to breed tonight or tomorrow most likely. I looked it up and it is not super uncommon for them to tear jaw muscles or dislocate them. Sad to see happen. Sucks that it was the female of the main breeding pair
