Thanks to thousands of ocean advocates who jumped in and took action on behalf of sawfish and red snapper—we have two wonderful ocean victories to share with you.

In a big win for improving the health of red snapper populations and ending overfishing, the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council adopted a plan to set a science-based catch limit for red snapper and reduce the large amount of bycatch by shrimp trawls. Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES) adopted a landmark proposal to ban international trade in sawfish.
