Hey guys, I thought I'd share pictures my small planted tank. I am not a big fan of betta fish but I couldn't pass this guy up. I was originally going to keep red cherry shrimp but now I am doubtful. Has anyone has any luck keeping rcs in a small tank with a betta?

Thanks for looking!

I've done it, really depends on the bettas temperament.. Make sure you have lots of moss and such for the shrimp lets to hide in

I had a betta for years in a 10 with a school of 5 white clouds. They lived peacefully together - something to consider? Maybe the betta with 3 clouds?

I'm thinking I might take a chance. I'll plant some Java moss and add in some shrimp once the tank grows out a bit. I'll upload some more pictures when I can get on a computer

I used to keep a planted 2.5g with a beta and RCS on my desk at work. Since RCS breed like cockroaches, I never noticed if any were missing.

The planted tank are a bunch of nazie's APC is ok.. There's some good folks on that one.. I don't claim to be the best In the world but I used to have a small business farming aquatic plants and breeding shrimp from cherries to Taiwan bees.. I'm willing to give any advice I can.

Excellent. Thanks guys. Yeah I'm also on atlantaaquarium.com and it's a great resource.

I've kept RCS for about 6yrs but never had much long term luck keeping them with fish, i.e. the larger adults tend to survive if their too big for the fish, but I don't see babies or the population increase. I don't recall if I've tried them with bettas, but I've kept them with tetras, platies, and baby ram cichlids, all in tanks 6 gal or smaller.
