I am setting up a manifold in my sump room and would appreciate suggestions on media reactors for the following types of media:
* GFO - Going to need a 1-1.5 liter reactor
* Carbon - Going to need a 1-1.5 liter reactor
* Bio Filtration (Sea Chem Matrix) - Going to need a 2 liter reactor
On my old system, I used the BRS reactors to run my carbon and GFO; however, I am not really impressed with them. My BRS reactors seem to perform well initially but begin to loose flow after 3-6 months. Even when replacing the sponges/ cleaning out the chamber I find that sediments get clogged in the little plastic end caps that the water runs through. My solution was to replace the end caps every few months, but this became a pain after a while.
Perhaps I am just being picky about the BRS, but I would like to hear what others use for their media. Anyone have any feedback on the GEO or MRC brands?
