Best return pump for 500 gallon system

Gonna plumb all my tanks toghter everything is just over 500 gallons. can be internal or external.

I'd go Reeflo for that. Probably the Hammerhead. Sequence makes one that is equally as good. That would put you near 3800 gph return.

This is spread out in a whole room... I dedicated a room to fish room rather than 4 square feet.

Yes not enough info. Low pressure or high. A lot of the high flow pumps require 1.5 inch plumbing to be effective.

If you have a lot of plumbing and small pipes then make sure you get one that is effective with back pressure like iwaki. Internal or external matters for noise reduction. Water is a good add blocking some of the noise from the pump.

I am using two diablo 10500 dc pumps on my returns. Very efficient but reliability is not good. I have three of these pumps two have failed but warranty covered brand new ones. 1 power supply also failed but I had extra from the two new pumps they sent me. So support is good at coralvue.

Before that I used the largest iwaki and it lasted 15+ years before it failed.

The diablos are retired - maybe because of failures? New versions were supposed to be out but I haven't seen them.
