Best way to clean dirty tank equipment

I want to clean some newly acquired nasty pumps and a skimmer
Ive heard diluted white vinegar?
What ratio should i dilute it to?
I already know this skimmer is gonna be a pain lol

Muratic Acid works awesome and you need less elbow grease. It also gets in the very tight areas where a cleaner just cant.

M acid is awesome! But if your scared, straight vinegar has always done well for me.

Muriatic acid is hydrochloric acid. Depending on the concentration of the source, the fumes can be pretty irritating, so plan accordingly.

Using warm or hot water with vinegar will significantly increase its efficiency, however I don't suggest doing this with muriatic acid as this will also increase its vapor pressure wherever you are using it.
