Hey guys I'm new to this forum and need some posts so I can send PMs and actually talk to some people directly haha. So, I decided to say hi and show some out-of-date pictures of my Biocube. It's a 14G with LEDs, mj900 for the return pump, koralia nano, media basket in the second chamber (filter floss, chemipure elite, chaeto). I currently have approx. 21 different types of corals in the tank along with 2 black and white clowns and a lone surviving snail haha. I'll update the pictures when I get a chance.

These pictures are about half a year out of date and I've since added a torch, LE sunset monti, LE pokerstar monti, and a war coral. The chalices have also grown out a bit more then what the picture shows. The MH is actually getting to the point where I'm considering fragging.

Need one more post so I'll leave you with saying I hope you enjoy my thread. I will update the pics when I get home in a few weeks and can use the lady-friend's nice camera. I'll also be adding a frag tank thread before to long so I hope you follow along with that one as well.

Love to here more about the led build part of your cube.Im planning the same tank for my office.

Did you retro fit your own less in it? Or did you buy a premade hood? I was always curious how well sps does under less.

It's actually the nanotuners.com retrofit. Was going to do the DIY version but couldn't find the time to sit down and devote myself to it. One thing I would change if I did it all over again would be to make the lights dimable and use two blue strips of 6X1W LEDs and one white strip of 6X1W LEDs (so I could actintic the hell out of it when I wanted haha). I currently run a 50/50 mix on all three strips and it puts out a ton of light. I've actually got a little screen placed in the splash-guard because it's too intense for most of my corals. Great colors, shimmer effect, just wish I had more options to have the "actintic" look. I think you could use these LEDs and have a full tank of SPS from sandbed to top rock.

Thanks! Like I said, these are a little out of date, and I need to get some new shots with a nice camera. I really like the Halimeda because I feel like it makes it look more natural then just a bunch of pink rocks with putty, frag disks, and coral. Stuff grows like weeds but it's worth it.

Nice to see others using LEDs out there this one one of my projects I plan to tackle in the next few weeks with my 24g nano and my 12 maybe

It's definitely worth it. They grow coral like mad. Even the slow growing chalices took off once I got them hooked up. Let me know how that goes.
