i had a few people think im crazy, but i removed the false wall and drilled it with a 1" bulkhead. next im drilling it for a 1/2" return .this is going to be a full sps tank with a 70w hqi in the hood or 150w hqi hoodless .

It's only overkill to the unimaginative:D . Personally, I think it's a great idea:thumbs:

ill post pics when i get the 1/2 " hole drilled . i know it takes all the fun out of an all in one. but i plan on having a nice zoa floor with a le sps garden.its

I dont know how I removed the false wall with out breaking the tank. They used so much silicone. trying to drill a hole with a dremel sucked as well.

Mark, I think it is a fantastic idea. I would think the ideal tank would actually have a much larger sump to support a much smaller display. Todd W. Does this, as he has like a 300 gal sump on his 90 gallon, I think. It probably will really help to stabilize the water.

right now, im thinking he is concentrating on corals. For the longest time I had one clown in my 29 and just bought corals. But hey he might be buying firsh right now as I type.

BTW I think it is a great idea, its a little different but who wants to be like everyone else?

the tank cracked and is gone .i still have a the 20 low and the 40 sump. if i could control the Lha

i'm going to guess it had something to do with how far the drain was horizontally plumbed off the back combined with the vibrations from the rigid PVC on the thin glass.

still a cool idea though :) if i ever own a tank over 150 gallons, it's definitely going to have a refugium twice it's size. i hate water changes lol.

its because i hard plumbed it should have used flex pipe. i was trying to clean some plumbing up and it poped when i made a cut into the return line. it was my fault.
