So one of two impulse purchases for my BC29 was a Hydor Pico Evolution 1200. It had a higher flow rate and lower power consumption than the stock pump. The down side was when I got the pump in and saw on the side that it only has a 28" head. I was a nuke mechanic in the navy so I know, ok sort of remember, a thing or two about pump head. This will seriously curtail the flow rate. Possibly below that of the stock pump.
So my possibly not so bright idea.
Why not just move the pump higher in chamber 3? Pretty much everything I've read on the BC's is that people fill the rear chambers all the way up or nearly all the way up. Theoretically, at least to my 12 years in the past experience, there shouldn't be an issue with moving the pump up and plenty to gain. But then again, I haven't read any threads about people moving the stock pump up and there's practically no way that I've had an original thought in regards to this hobby.
So, people's thoughts?
