Bird's nest placement

I have 6 t5's over a 75. I got a birds nest frag at the frag swap and I can already see it sprouting branches. I placed it as high as I could in the tank but would ideally like to put it on the floor. How much light do these guys need? Any concerns putting it on the sand?

Mine is happy anywhere there is light. But it grows best towards the top.

Depending on the type , BN can survive under a flash light. They are hardy. The light does determine the intensity of the colors tho. The hot pink BN I am unable to keep its color under t5.

Thanks. Not for sure what kind it is. It doesn't appear hit pink but it is under t5's so maybe I wouldn't know. I'll try to get a put tomorrow. I think I'm going to move it to the sand bed and see how it goes.

I put mine (Green ORA) under the mattress for a week and it doubled in size.
They're kinda like a guy at the bar at closing time. Not too picky.
