okay so I'm out of town and left my mother to feed my fish, empty protein skimmer and dose tank with calcium ect. well shes freaking out that theres little black worms eating my corals, and sent me a picture of some green candycanes half closed up and with a camera phone so I cant see anything really, at least no black 'worms'. However my concern is that my sps corals died recently and i tested the water, my alk was too high and calcium too low so i fixed it, done water changes, got fresh filter stuff and chemicals and things got much better. When I left I had done a 30% water change, ph, salinity, calcium were all where needed to be, my nitrates were a little high before the water change but went down after that. No phosphates and corals were looking good, other then my hammer who hasnt opened up all the way. I suspect that to be from awhile back I had started changing my sand and it spiked an amonia spike so I stopped. anyways has anyone had little black worm parasites or anything like that? or is my mother just trying to get me to come home? I've been gone a week and its snowing to heavily to drive.

Thanks

is the candy cane a lil closed up? mine have a dark ring around the heads when they are not fully open and maybe the feeder tenacles are reflecting the light and thats what she is seeing??

theres 6 heads on it, the bottome two are a bit closed, the top two are open fully and look good and then the others are half open, half closed. I can post the pic, it wont be good quality.

no, shes sick, however i asked my brother to take a look and he says theres black little things on them and seems to be pits. I asked him to try gently swooshing them away or even picking them up with my long tongs, and he hasnt replied. with this weather I cant go back for a few days and its proving stressful. I have a hunch that its red slime aglea because iv had to get it off that coral before and it grows in weird shapes and I hope thats all it is.

well i got home, tank looked good, and i tested water everything was fine, the black things seemed to be waste, i was able to brush them off gently. and they werent moving or anything. all that stressin over nothin *sigh*
