black spots on clownfish?

Petco has this occ. clown that looks like he has black freckles. normal stripes, just added spots. they have had him for a good month and hes eating .. everything seems fine with him. Is he ok- can I bring this little freak home?

Are there any corals in the tank they are in like frogspawn or something? I'm not sure if clowns can get black ich but they do develope spots like that from getting stung by corals they try and host. Since they are eating I would bet this is the case.

Sounds like the Black Plaque! My advice would be to buy it and bring it to me and I'll get it back to health!

no, its bigger than ich. almost like leopard spots... or patches.

and no corals in his tank that i can remember.
