Is it necessary to have the blue lights on if I do not have any corals? I just started stocking my tank and have an arrow crab, some Scarlet reef hermit crabs and a foxface fish. Should I just use the white light for my livestock during the day and the moonlight when it's dark?

You will probably see a little more algae growth with only whites. Won't hurt anything though.

I forget the brand but it is a 2 bulb flourescent with a white, blue and LED moonlights. It is entry level. I have it on a timer and I have the white and blue coming on together at 2 pm and then I turn to just the blue light as it gets dark out, turn on the moonlights once it is completely dark out, and then the timer shuts the lights off at 10 pm.

Again Keith, sorry for the late, late response. I hate it when people ask me a question to my question, then disappear.

To answer your question, yes. You don't need the blue, it's for your viewing pleasure only.
When you get ready to stock corals, come see me!
