So I just recently picked up a small (2-3 inch tnag and a yellow foxface. Well they both have done very well until today. The tang had been brething very heavily and it seems to lay down on rock. He eats a little bit when I feed the tank but it also picks at the algae on the rocks. The tang also is always by my Hollywood stunner chalice. It seems like he never leaves it. Is he mabye getting ick or some other sickness. What should I do?

Soak their food in metro and focus if there still eating Quarantine is best also use garlic

Are these fish in QT or your DT?

Heavy breathing is not a good sign.

They are in my display. I recently had a problem with my QT . I just fed it and it ate some of the algae ( I lost the package ) that is dryer or something. He also ate a couple of pellets and pick at the hair algae. I know that a big problem with these fish is ich. I just don't want to loose it. I will probaly pick up a 10 gallon tomorrow to put it in.

New fish should always be QT'ed. This aids in keeping parasites out of your display tank. It also serves to make sure the fish is healthy and actively eating before going into its permanent home. Heavy breathing can be caused by several things including gill flukes or Cryptocaryon</em>. There is no reef-safe treatment for Cryptocaryon</em>. Garlic does nothing to combat it. In fact, garlic can cause liver damage in fish.

Well I've never actually used garlic before..? I am going to move the tang into the 10gallon. Would ich-x help at all?

Yes. It eats a little. I fed him some mysis. Probaly only ate 2 little shrimp. Ate some of the seaweed stuff. I left it in there tonight in case it wants any.
