I read on liveaquria that this bluelined pipefish needs a 30 gallon tank minimum. This fish is so small do you think it would be ok in my 4 gallon nano??

there wouldn't be enough area to house the live rock, rubble, & macro algae (codium, etc) to support the live food, such as copepods in a 4 gallon nano to keep one alive.

nope four gallons is way way too small. thats in the pico range and there aren't many fish that can be kept in a tank so small unless you're an expert aquarist

I agree with both the above, it's to small to support their food, there are some smaller gobies that are really the only fish in for that size range of tanks, it's too small for even a single clown, check out
a> for more info

To small for sure... I had one in my 25 gallon and he was pretty happy, but moved him to my 150 and he is a completley different fish. They graze pretty hard.

Dang ok well it was worth a shot to ask, I think I may get some sort of little watchmen goby, like the yahsa or something

clown gobys would be a better alternative to a watchman cause watchmans still get pretty big for that sized tank
