This thread is in connection to the maroon behavior thread I just started. As a result of my maroon kicking the sand on my brain, I have notice tissue loss in 2 spots. What can I do to help? If I put the brain up on the rocks it doesn't open up as nice as I put it down on the sand.

Up small water changes to keep a full fresh amount of trace elements in there for it. Also feed it. It will even feed at night if you have anything that will take it's meal. Frozen meaty or carnivore pellets

I keep mine on the sand and honestly under some pretty low light. If I get it in direct light, even at 24" depth, it bleaches quickly. Feed mine 1x week with selecon & garlic laced mysis.

I had a brain coral a few years back my maroon clown did the same thing with the sand if you have a tile saw cut off the infected area then get a 2 or 3 inch pipe with the bottom cap fill it up with sand place the brain on top and put it higher up on some rock hopfully it will heal and in a couple of months the PVC pipe should be covered in coralin algea

I'm really afraid of hurting the coral. Today I moved it to the other end of the tank where the maroon won't bother it. Now I guess I'll have to feed it more often.
