I'm considering setting up a small system (5gallons or less) in order to breed my own amphipods. To confirm mandrian and scooter bleenies will eat these things correct?

The question that I have is:
1. What do I need to have in the system for them to survive?
2.what will I need to feed them
3.Can I use this same system as a quarantine system for my fish?

Thanks

1.) my system is a 1 gallon bodle with Airpump.
2.) I grow phyoplankton and feed that to them.
3.) I defienetly would not use the same system for a qt.

What type of substrate will I need for them? Live rock? Lights? Heater ect?

I don't have anything in mine. I guess it might help to put a small piece of LR in with them.

My intentions were to breed amphipods for mandarins to eat. If mandarins don't eat amphipods, what do they eat?

Also who or what eats amphipods? What purpose would amphipods have in a tank?
