I woke up this am to see brown stuff on my hammer. Hard to tell if it was slimy - not enough of it - but it sure was not mean to be there.

I didn’t have the stuff for a KFC dip but I did have my planted tank tricks. I think it’s worked because all that brown stuff detached itself immediately.

First a dip in a string solution of erythromycin from API for a few mins. I keep it for cyano and I know from experience cyano hates this stuff.

I then dipped in a solution of hydrogen peroxide which caused the brown stuff to float off. Now doing a rinse cycle before quarantine.

Main tank is now getting a light treatment.

The hammer is perking back up again.

Will post back in a few days to let you know the progress

Hmm nope - I found the same thing on my candy cane so did the same treatment and to my suprise all of these little brown slug type things popped off. They turned darker in the erythromycin solution and then dropped off entirely in the peroxide. And then I assume promptly died.

So what could that be?IMG_4445.jpeg
