Well I have used and built and design alot of skimmers over the years and I could never justify spending the money on what I thought was an over priced skimmer. Well I had a deal come up that I couldnt pass on. I picked up a Bubble King Supermariner 300 . All I can say is wow, the craftsmen ship is flawless, the skimmer is dead silent and the skimate I am getting from this is unreal. I know there are other people out there like me that cant see spending that kind of money on a skimmer but All I can say is I wish I would have gotten one sooner. They may be prices but its worth it.

BKmini 200 here also.
they are expensive, but EXCELLENT skimmer. Its something you don't really understand until you have one:)

Is it the ease of use or do they clean the water better?

It is alot of things, the build quality of it is second to none, the ease of use is so simply, super quiet you have to put your ear to the silencer to even hear this thing run. The red dragon pumps produce very little heat, the needle wheel is not the cheap plastic stuff other use,the impeler shaft rides on a bearing so less friction. The color of the skimat is so much darker so hence it is cleaning the water better. There are alot of things that make this a top class skimmer.

I have no doubt about their build quality at all. I've seen them in person and they seem to be top shelf for sure. Not sure just how good they have to be but better is better!!! The ease of use is what would attract me to them. I like for my skimmer to run untouched for the most part and that seems to be the norm with these skimmers. Thanks for sharing and for the feedback. I've seen some of your builds and I value your opinion. Good score!

The only time I have adjusted my BK Mini...besides the break in period was when I went BB. Literally a set and forget skimmer. I always use to run Octopus skimmers (7 years) and while they are GREAT skimmers...I always found myself adjusting, or finding the occasional overflowed cup because the skimmer was freaking out. *knock on wood* I have yet to have that happen with the BK. Are BK's the best...prolly not, are they expensive...unfortunately. But I have been very happy with it, and don't see myself changing for some time. As hobbyists we are very lucky to have such a great selection of amazing products out there in any price bracket. Definitely a great hobby!
