I have recently bought a bubble tip anemone and it is in a 37 gallon tank. It has only been in there for two days I just want to make sure it looks alright. THis is my first anemone and my tank is 7 months old.

Hard to tell from the pic when looking on my phone but it looks fine to me. Give some time. Keep in mind it may move around until it finds a spot it likes.

Thank you! I was just worried because it didnt seem like it was fully opened but i figured i would need to give it some time.

I agree with J.B. Give it time. It looks fine in the photo.

Remember to feed it ~2x a week some small pieces of krill or mysid shrimp.

Is it me, or does there look to be 2 nems in there? Bottom of the pic I see another...did it split? Nems at time will expel waste when introduced into a new tank, esp if not acclimated. Plus, I wouldn't directly feed it in a tank that size unless you want it to rapidly grow. They will get plenty of food from fish waste and your regular fish feeding.

I saw that too, but thought it might be a hammer since the OP didn't mention it.

Doesn't seem like a hammer....if it did split, then that would explain why it looks the way it does. Leave it alone, don't feed and let it heal.

That's isn't another one at the bottom. My tanks has a mirrored back an that is actually the top of the anemone. Thanks for all the help though!

Fwiw I never feed my anemone although it doesn't hurt

if he is fed its because he happens to catch something floating by. 2 months after I introduced mine into my system it split and now I have 2 healthy large bubble tip anemones. I think stable conditions and frequent water changes with reef salt and good flow is key to success

Alright within the last 30 minutes it has shriveled up and it is producing a lot of waste. Will try to get a picture up. And quick comments?!?!

My recommendation would to be to leave it entirely alone for at least like 2-3 weeks. let it get adjusted before you feed it full and stuff. During this transition that anemone is burning alot of energy on things like, relocating, shrinking and swelling, and all the other stuff that comes along with a new environment. If you have lighting; let it be.
