Can anybody give a review on the Hydor smart wave pump controller??
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005TJCU0U/ref=s9_simh_gw_p199_d0_g199_i2?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-4&pf_rd_r=1JM15B365RMH9AB8B4Z7&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470939031&pf_rd_i=507846">Amazon.com: Hydor Smart Wave Pump Controller, 100 Watt: Pet Supplies</a>

Vortech's are out of my budget and wondering how this would work with a couple of Koralia 750gpd or 1050 gpds?

I have them in stock. I've sold a few - no "bad" feedback. Usually I'll hear bad before I hear good :)

I can beat that price, too.

I thought the hydors were the ones that would, on occasion, reverse direction on a wavemaker?

The powerheads do on occasion, if the little rubber "bumper" is missing out of the cage.

Jenn is right be careful wen cleaning don't miss place the grommets or the washers and they will work fine

I have a 1050 on a wave maker they will sumtimes spin backwards but will go back to normal wen they cycle I have a 1050 on one itl spin backward one time forward the next corals don't mind so neather do I

Nobody has come in raving about how great it is, but nobody has come in to tell me it's crap either. Usually one will hear bad feedback but if somebody is happy with it they don't usually say much, if anything (human nature).

I've sold a number of them. I think 90GalGuy might have one if my memory serves I got him (or somebody) one quite a while back, you might ask him what he thinks of his.

I like mine.

I picked it up at Jenn's 10 anniversary celebration, so I've had it for a bout a month. It works. I had the reversing flow problem before hand, so after talking with Jenn, I realized what had happened, and got lucky-the grommet was still in the cage (Thanks Jen for saving me some money-though I over spent it anyways on those cool antheias.

It controls two power heads, either on and off or both on for 5 sec, 10 15 sec, 1 min 15, 30min so forth with a feed cycle too. I already had the power heads so for the price of the controller I was able to add some chaotic flow to my 120 gallon... I'm happy.
By the way I can't afford the Eco tech's, not unless someone wants to give me some for an unbiased review ; D

I am thinking about getting the 1600 gph kit Jen what are you getting for these might have to make a drive to Canton this weekend :)

Are there pics of this 'grommet' anywhere? I have 4 of the EVO's and have never seen a grommet when pulling them apart to clean.

I've had one run backwards once. A couple restarts and it went forward and hasn't gone backwards since. Then last night I had a big one (1400) "lock up" in my rock curing bin for no good reason. Pulled it out, restarted a couple of times and it's working fine.

Inside the "cage" that snaps on the front, there's a little round rubber bumper, a bit smaller than a pencil eraser. Sometimes people lose these when they're cleaning the powerheads and have them apart.

If you've lost yours, contact Hydor, they'll send you replacements.

Ah okay yes. now I know what you're talking about. Thanks. Still present on all mine.

i bought one from jenn during the 10th anniversary sale since it was 25% off. Its been pretty good thus far except the two times i had to unplug/replug it in because it froze :/
i have it on the Koralia evo 1400's.. they make a bit of a clicking noise when firing

How about the natural wave power strips? I bought one off here the other day. I dont like how I hear the powerheads cut on.... Does the constant on/off shorten the life of the powerheads?
