Is it beneficial to buffer (raise the ph) of your make-up water? My RODI water is 7. I was thinking that I might be lowering my ph over time. I lose (therefore, have to add) one gallon of make-up water a day.

I usually add some buffer to my top off water to help stabilize the PH. But Im starting to use a two part from BRS which has a buffer that raises the ph.

I add two gal of make up a day to my 200. I put 5mls of Aquavitro 8.4 per gal. of make up water. PH is always good to go. KH stays at 9 or 10 also this way. I have over 3 years changed the way or products and had problems. So i am sticking with what works for me....

I am sure that two part systems would be wonderfull but beyond my skills right now.....

I have low alk since I stopped using the calcium reactor. So ive been using the two part from a different supplier and my alk always stays low. I also bought the drip dosers so it will be more accurate each day instead of the homade ones I using now.

RODI should be about 7.0

There's really no need to buffer it unless you're having ph issues.
